Baby Elephant
Today I bring this Baby Elephant Tutorial from the Academy, so you can take a look!
Before starting
This tutorial has videos, quantities and templates. Here are some tips that you may need:
- Step by step: take the amount of fondant for each piece indicated below, follow the instructions in the video and compare it with the template.
- How to use the templates: Your piece should be very similar to the shape that appears on the template, looking at it from above, but do not obsess it is just a reference.
Materials:
- Dresden tool, scalpel and ball tool. Here you can see what tools are
- Wires or toothpicks
- Edible glue. Here is my glue recipe.
- Fondant: gray, black, and white
Step 1
First, let’s start making the legs. You need to let them rest until they are firm. It is quite important! You need 3 gr for each.
Step 2
In this step you will make the body. It is very easy to make. You will need 25 gr of gray fondant.
Step 3
Now, maybe the step more complicated, but don’t worry, I’m going to show you how to make it step by step.
35gr for the head.
Step 4
For the face:
Two little black balls for the eyes
One ball of 1.5 gray
Stretched gray fondant about 3-4mm thick
Two pieces of wire (# 18, 20, or 22 gauge) or toothpicks
Pink powder colouring
Step 5
Let’s make the arms!
In this step you need 2 balls of 3 gr each.
Step 6
Come on! It is almost finished. In this step you need white fondant and a nozzle.It is time to add some details.
Step 7
And finally….it is time to put all the pieces together. Remember, they should be firm.
